eleanor's abaya yoga
abaya [ab-i-yuh]: noun. sanskrit meaning for freedom from fear.
[NAH-mah-stay]: interjection. hindi for hello. derivative of the sanskrit word namah+te meaning "i bow to you".
I am hoping that by visiting my website, you are keen to embrace a new change in your life - in the form of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga; either for exercise or to learn how to let go of the stresses of modern living.
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is well-known for its powerful changes; it can help combat restlessness, depression, be used in moderation to help injuries, it can make you more in-tune with your bodies' needs and encourages your body to be stronger and more flexible.
Every person is a unique individual, so I cannot possibly give a checklist of yoga's advantages and attributes. If you begin the practice of yoga with a clear intention of continuation and dedication, it will become evident to you exactly how YOU benefit and how YOUR life will change. As B.K.S Iyengar says:
I have been practicing yoga for over 2 years, in which time I discovered that it was Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga which suited me best due to its dynamic flow of poses that could be adapted once my abilities improved. Knowing the sequence by heart enables me to focus on my breathing, my alignment and my mind - the 3 foundation blocks of yoga.
With this love of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga I became registered with Yoga Alliance and completed my 200 hour teacher training course in India, with my wonderful teacher, Vijay Amar.
I plan to return to India someday, so I can complete my 500 hour teacher training course, to delve deeper into the asanas, meditations and pranayama exercises so I can be the best teacher I can for you. As the famous saying goes:
"A good teacher never stops learning."
